So deciding to write a book was one thing, I love writing, so in actuality that was possibly the easiest thing! The editing was never ending, passing it over to beta-readers was nerve wracking! Learning how to actually publish the thing – is like a second full time job! Learning how to market it though is weird for me, as is building a website – bizarre for someone who works in IT I know!
I am a pretty private person, and I don’t go around shouting about how fantastic I am, far from it. My social media is kept mostly to pictures of my wine or days out when we aren’t in lockdown. Now though, I need to be more, do more. So the brand new profiles for my Author (still not really sure I am allowed to call myself that!) pages are ready on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter – links can be found on the homepage and the contact page. There will also be links to my Goodreads and Amazon author pages as soon as I can.
To all of my friends, family and colleagues who are supporting me and engaging with my new pages, thank you so much! Every single click, like or comment helps me. I am loving being in touch with other members of the indie writing community, and I have to say a big, big thank you to my lovely sister in law (www.thecoffeehousewriter.com) who has put up with ten million questions and been beyond helpful!
So as I begin to immerse myself in the world of social media, please expect many updates, sneak peeks and excited snippets about ‘The Missed Kiss’ plus the other projects I am working on. I can’t wait for everyone to read it, and I hope you all enjoy it.
I will be blogging again soon, letting you know more about how I came up with the idea for the book and also reviewing some other fantastic fiction that has passed my way during lockdown.
